Since its Hawaii opening in 1987, California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) has been opening its heart, pocketbook and personnel to help the community and many others who need a loving touch and support. When Hurricane Iniki hit Kauai, CPK provided hundreds of pizzas to folks who were made homeless; CPK has provided annual support to the Great Aloha Run which gives all their net proceeds to 30 charities in Hawaii and the list goes on! Just recently, CPK sponsored a luncheon at its Waikiki store for several dozen Sunshine Kids and families when they flew to Hawaii for the “Sunshine Kids Hawaiian Hang-Loose Holiday”. Through CPK’s involvement in the project, they helped to bring hope to the Kids and their families that they are not alone in their difficult struggle with cancer. The Sunshine Kids spent a week here doing exciting, positive activities while celebrating life, giving them a touch of love from people other than their families.
