Stanford: We want to thank you Hawaii for always being so generous to support all the local charities. We need to recognize all the wonderful workers and volunteers that give their time and heart striving to make each Hawaii family brighter, happier, and healthier.
Kathy: All the organizations appreciate any kind of help. There are countless ways to lend a helping hand and we urge everyone to reach out and help THEIR favorite charity. Kathy (and the kids?): And remember, together we can all make a difference.

  Stanford: Honolulu Theatre for Youth's Le Masquerade 2007, "Spooky Kabuki" will take place on Saturday October 27th at the Japanese Cultural Center's Manoa Grand Ballroom. Experience mouth-watering sushi & tempura, tantalizing silent auction and sneak peeks from HTY’s chilling new play, “Obake Tales”.

18 month Women's Residential Program called Mending in Paradise   The Waianae Coast Comprehensive Center's "A Tribute to the Spirit of Community"

Stanford: River of Life Mission serving Hawaii's homeless and needy since 1985 is opening an 18 month Women's Residential Program called Mending in Paradise. The dictionary defines "mend": to free from faults or defects; to improve in manners or morals; or to put into good shape or working order again.
 
Kathy: With this in mind, we plan to help these women to become stabilized and reintegrated into society, freeing them to become independent, ending a lifestyle of dependency. To help this very worthy cause call 524-7556. And remember, together we can all make a difference.

  Stanford: Save the date, Saturday Ocotber 20th is The Waianae Coast Comprehensive Center's "A Tribute to the Spirit of Community" at the Ihilani Resort & Spa.  It's a fundraiser to build a new family medical facility to meet the health care needs of the growing leeward coast community.  
 
Kathy: They will honor 2 extraordinary individuals who tirelessly championed the cause for the health center, Anthony Guerrero Jr. and Dr. Frederick Dodge. Oahu's largest 24-hour walk-in shelter
  The 18th Annual Honolulu Wine Festival, Evolution 2007

Stanford: IHS always needs our help! IHS serves an average of 800 meals per day, nearly 300,000 per year.  As Oahu's largest 24-hour walk-in shelter, their meal program is extremely important. Once food stability is acheived, the homeless can begin to address housing issues.
 
Kathy: IHS is only able to serve this many meals by food donations from all of us. Even donations of basic toiletries and clothing are constantly needed. Monetary donations as well. Drop off any donations at the Mens or Womens & Family shelters 7 days a week from 8am to 7 pm. For more info, call 447-2811. And remember, together we can all make a difference.

5th Annual Walk for Hunger

Stanford: The River of Life Mission, a place were Hopelessness is turned to Hope, is recruiting individuals and teams NOW for our 5th Annual Walk for Hunger. The Walk is Sept. 22, registration is 7:00 am and the Walk starts at 8:00am. Please join them at Magic Island to help wipe out hunger in Hawaii.
 
Kathy:  After the 2 mile walk there will be music, clowns for the kids, prizes and food!!  And all you have to do is get friends, family or co-workers to join you for a great morning outdoors to help those in need.   Stanford: "Get the Drift and Bag it" is happening on Septmember 15! It's a STATEwide cleanup of shorline and beaches with special attention paid to the effects that litter on land has on marine life.

  Hawaii Foodbank annual food drive

Stanford: Wednesday May 2 is Kids Day. Remember to buy the special Kids Day edition of the Honolulu Advertiser. Local celebrities alongside hundreds of volunteers will be selling them on the streets. All proceeds will benefit Parents and Children Together.

Kathy: PACT is also seeking patrons to purchase newspapers for students at $1 per copy. Sponsors may designate which school will benefit from the donation. For more information, call 847-3285. And remember, together we can all make a difference.
 

On Saturday, April 21 Hawaii Foodbank is having their annual food drive from from 8am to 5pm. Drop off your canned goods at the following locations!

Kathy: Can you believe that for nearly 33,000 of Hawaii’s Children the hardest assignment is finding their next meal? Last year the Foodbank provided food or over 130,000 individuals. Let's help fight hunger. And remember, together we can all make a difference.

A Fundraiser Dinner

Stanford: Helping Hands Hawaii and Senator Daniel Inouye will host a fundraiser dinner this Friday March 9th, recognizing the Hawaii National Guard and others who have contributed to the success of its Ready to Learn Program. This program provides school supplies to needy children from grades K thru 12, serving over 25,000 children.

  Stanford: Friday, March 2. It's Hats Off to the American Red Cross from 10:30-2:30.
